Devices
Receptacles, switches, dimmers, GFCI/AFCI, occupancy sensors, floor boxes, counted by type and by room.
Branch circuits
Home-run lengths measured off the plan, wire gauge by circuit, conduit vs romex called out separately.
Panels & service
Panel schedule, breaker count and sizes, service entrance, meter socket, grounding electrode system.
Lighting
Fixture counts by type from the schedule, plus drivers, trims and controls.
Feeders
Conductor lengths and sizes, raceway, pull boxes, terminations.
Excluded unless asked
Fire alarm, low voltage, and temp power are quoted separately so your bid stays clean.
Questions we get asked
Do you count from the electrical plan or the architectural?
The E-sheets for devices, circuits and panel schedules, cross-referenced against the A-sheets for room names and dimensions. If the E-sheets are missing we say so before starting rather than guessing.
Do you price conduit and romex differently?
Yes. They are separate line items with separate labor rates, because the labor difference is often larger than the material difference. If the plans do not specify, we ask.
How do you handle labor hours?
Hours per unit by device and circuit type, listed as hours, not dollars. You apply your own crew rate, because your rate is not our business to guess.
Bidding more than one job a month?
The retainer covers 4 projects at $650/month, or 10 to 15 at $1,450 with priority 12-hour turnaround. Cancel any time. Most contractors who send a second job switch to it.
